Today, the spot hosts the Distillery itself, along with the Distillery Bar and serves as the clubhouse for Edgefield's par-3 Pub Course. With glass in hand while standing behind a wall of ornate etched glass, visitors can watch our 12-foot-high, gleaming copper-and-stainless-steel still in full swing. It resembles a hybrid of a 19th-century diving suit and oversized coffee urn, a design made famous by Holstein of Germany. Specialties of the house include the rich, amber-hued Hogshead Whiskey, fragrant Edgefield Brandy and Penney's Gin, as well as Longshot Brandy and Pear Brandy. Spirits can be sampled and purchased at the adjacent Distillery Bar, a comfortable and inviting pub open to guests who are 21 and over. Cozy up next to the fire insides its weathered walls, fashioned from a series of etched windows that once adorned the likes of merry old England's White Horse Inn and Bellman's Cross Inn. Pour ¼ oz of a 151 proof rum (Bacardi or Lemonhart) Using a long lighter, light the 151 on fire, caramelizing the sugared rim. Shake a few dashes of cinnamon & nutmeg and watch the sparks fly. Then add: 1¼ oz Edgefield Coffee Liqueur ¼ oz Irish Cream Fill with fresh-roasted coffee or a double Americano Top with a thick layer of fresh whipped cream Garnish with another sprinkle of cinnamon & nutmeg MORNING NECTAR (8.5-oz cocktail glass) In a mixing pint combine: 5/8 oz fresh-squeezed lemon 5/8 oz simple syrup (2 parts baker's sugar, 1 part water) 5/8 oz St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur 1¼ oz Morning Dew Brandy Add ice and shake for 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Top with a float of Edgefield Winery Pinot Noir (about ¼ oz) Garnish with a floating lemon disc TODDY NO. 7 (8-oz coffee glass) Pre-shock an 8-oz coffee glass with hot water Add: 2 oz of Edgefield Herbal Liqueur No. 7 1 tsp honey ½ oz fresh-squeezed lemon Top with hot water Garnish with a lemon zest twist PENNEY'S SIDEWALK (8.5-oz cocktail glass) In a mixing pint combine: 5/8 oz fresh-squeezed orange juice 5/8 oz fresh-squeezed lemon 5/8 oz simple syrup (2 parts baker's sugar, 1 part water) 5/8 oz Triple Sec Liqueur 1¼ oz Edgefield Distillery's Penney's Gin Add ice, shake & strain into sugar rimmed cocktail glass Garnish with lemon and orange discs MONKEY PUNCH (12-oz Collins glass) In a mixing pint combine: 1¼ oz fresh-squeezed lemon juice 5/8 oz fresh-squeezed orange juice 5/8 oz simple syrup (2 parts baker's sugar, 1 part water) 1¼ oz Monkey Puzzle Whiskey 5/8 oz Pama Pomegranate Liqueur Fill mixing pint with ice, shake and dump into Collins glass Top Collins with 7-Up Garnish with a lemon wheel THREE ROCKS RUM & GINGER (10-oz bucket) Fill glass with ice 1¼ oz Three Rocks Rum Top with ginger beer or ginger ale Garnish with a lime wedge THREE ROCKS COFFEE (8-oz coffee glass) Shock an 8-oz coffee glass with hot water Muddle 2 sugar cubes with hot coffee in the bottom of the glass Add 1¼ oz Three Rocks Rum Fill with hot fresh coffee Top with a layer of fresh whipped cream Cornelius Pass Roadhouse Distillery and Edgefield Distillery spirits are available only at McMenamins.
